Her Story

Chihana was nothing more than a baby when Itachi Uchiha massacred his clan. By a stroke of luck, if you could call it that, Chihana and her parents had left the village on a family vacation a few days prior. They wouldn’t have to face Itachi. Instead, Danzo had sent an agent of the Root to track them down and kill them on the night of the massacre.Chihana’s parents managed to protect her from the agent but it cost them their own lives in the process. Chihana was left all alone in her blood soaked room for a few days before she was discovered by a family friend who delivered firewood to the family cabin. She was too weak to even cry but miraculously she survived.Chihana was then taken in by her family’s friend and raised as his own. He hid her identity as an Uchiha from everyone, including her, until the day her Sharingan activated. She grew up not too far from the old family cabin, though she had always been told by her adoptive father to never go near that place, for it was haunted and occasionally used by bandits and rouge ninja as a temporary hideout. However, as with all children, her curiosity grew too great one day and she snuck away to explore the cabin.An eerie sense of familiarity washed over Chihana while she explored the cabin interior. It was empty, filled with only dust and cobwebs but Chihana could somehow visualize furniture sitting here and there, framed pictures on the walls. And then she stepped into a bedroom. Her old bedroom. She gasped, a searing pain in her head and her heart striking her the moment she stepped into the room. She collapsed to her knees and held her head. Flashes of memories she had long kept repressed assaulted her minds eye: visions of two people she did not know and yet knew in her heart screaming and fighting, blood splattering across a wall and a crib, all over a baby girl with black hair. The words “We love you” whimpered with a weak smile. Agonizing silence for what seemed like forever. No matter how long or loud she screamed, those two people who had always cared for here wouldn’t get up anymore. She was all alone, a baby waiting to die without having lived.Tears streamed down her cheeks. She was staring at the spot where her parents had died years ago. The pain in her head had stopped but her heart still ached. Chihana glanced to the side at a shattered mirror that still hung on the wall to see her eyes had turned red, a strange black mark in each eye.The distraught child returned to her adoptive father and asked him for the truth about herself and the cabin. Seeing that the trademark of the Uchiha blood had awakened in her, he relented and told her everything he could remember and what he had learned after finding her barely clinging to life. Chihana was understandably shocked to learn that she was a member of the Uchiha Clan, a clan which had been wiped out by one of their own, although her adoptive father told her that a Shinobi agent from Konoha was responsible for her parents particular deaths.Chihana began her training as a kunoichi in earnest after that day and soon acclimated to her newly awakened kekkei genkai. She also learned of her Nature Release, Fire, another trademark of the Uchiha Clan, although it seemed she had some aptitude for Wind as well.Chihana left her childhood home when she became a teen and started traveling around the world. Her father warned her not to reveal the fact she was an Uchiha, in case any possible survivors were being hunted down. Even when she learned of the exist of another, Sasuke Uchiha of Konoha, Chihana still kept her bloodline a secret, only utilizing her Sharingan when absolutely necessary for survival or in bouts of rage. It was part of why she moved around so often and only occasionally entered other Hidden Villages during her travels.But she never stepped foot on the village of her birth. That is, until now…
